Overall, it was a good place to work with good people, but now it feels like a shell of its former self. There are some department heads and directors that are very well known for being tyrannical in their positions that cause a lot of these issues, and now it just seems that it is completely acceptable behavior by everyone in higher positions, even including the CEO. Many people feel job security is fleeting and don't expect to be employed much longer especially due to a large layoff that went through last year. We can't seem to keep anyone new for longer than a few months, so turnover has been very high compared to what it has been before the last 2 years. There are many employees that are overworked and burnt out with the rate of work that we have to keep up with currently. Production is overwhelmed and it seems to be never ending. ![]() We never seem to have enough people in Order Fulfillment to pick customer orders and get them shipped out in a timely manner. I have friends in other departments that all seem to feel the same way I do now. But unfortunately everything has changed in the last 2 years. Many of my co-workers have been very outgoing and helpful. If you start in the order fulfillment they will make you box for months before giving you other tasks.Īt one point I did enjoy working for this company. ![]() I finally had to quit when I couldn’t perform the same task everyday for 8 hours and they wouldn’t give me another task to do without a doctors note. The production department seems to be the happiest compared to customer service and order fulfillment. The work culture varies depending on department. It’s ironically juxtaposed with “organic, free trade, zero waste” advertising everywhere. We all try our best in an environment that is constantly beating us down. ![]() The management in the shipping department is highly demoralizing, rude, and poor communicators. It was hard work, low pay for a warehouse job. I decided to move to the order fulfillment department. After several of my colleagues were laid off due to “technological advances” (and because of what the contract says) I realized that department has no job security. MRH has been steadily auto mixing many of their processes which have made my position more and more obsolete. I started in the customer service department as a data processor.
